The Gateway Tour Tournament Overview

TOURNAMENTS:
The Gateway Tour in 2008 consists of 3 series of 54 hole tournaments in two markets, Phoenix, AZ (the Desert Winter, Spring, & Summer Series) and West Palm Beach, FL (the Beach Winter, Spring, & Summer Series), and a new tournament series in Dallas/ Ft. Worth, TX (the DFW Summer Series).
Each Series will hold 72 hole Championships after the completion of the series (after all 7 events for the Winter and Spring Series - with $200,000 Championships each, and after all 12 events for the Summer Series - for the $400,000 Tour Championship, as well as a brand new $300,000 Mid-Summer Championship after 6 events of the Summer Series).
MEMBERSHIP:
Gateway Tour membership fees for each Series include entry into all Series events as well as the Championships, if the player qualifies*.
*Qualification for each Championship consists of the top 36% of money-winners from the respective Series (Desert, Beach, & DFW (summer only), with the field of each Championship consisting of those top earners from the Desert and Beach Series for the Winter and Spring Championships, & the Desert, Beach, & DFW Series for the Mid Summer Championship and Gateway Tour Championship.
PURCHASE OF INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENTS AS A NON-MEMBER:
On a space available basis, non-members are allowed to purchase spots in up to 6 Gateway Tour events in any regular Summer series event*, but they cannot qualify for Championships even if enough money is earned.
* The player 'buy-in' rule is on a single market basis, meaning if the player wishes, he can purchase up to 6 events in the Desert Summer Series, and still purchase up to 6 in the Beach Summer Series & 6 in the DFW Summer Series...see the BUY A SPOT section to the website on the homepage for full details.
** Amateurs may buy into an unlimited number of tournaments (on a space available basis) at a cost of $500, as long as they meet the handicap requirements set forth in The Gateway Tour Policies.
